I am really excited about these gorgeous trends and pieces I have picked for you. I hope it will help to inspire you ladies with either your current look or to add to your wardrobe. Sometimes you wake up in the morning and just want to put something on that makes you feel great, well I know I do. Since it’s been psychologically proven that what you’re wearing can affect your mood, putting on something colourful, creative and confidence building may just be the thing to boost your spirits. I do hope you like the lovely tones and colours I’ve highlighted, the options in fabrics and the elements of smart tailoring amongst the softer shapes which will hopefully inspire you to try new pieces and play about with ways to wear the classics.

Heritage Check

It’s 2018, and plaid shows no signs of checking out! From Prince of Wales suiting to the herringbone check, make sure you take a nod to this trend and add some smart elements to your wardrobe to be in with the trend pack. Heritage jackets were the number one buy in spring, but they continue to be a best-seller for A/W 17 too, as everyone from Mulberry to Victoria Beckham has played with checked suiting. This new piece has just landed on to the site and emulates the catwalk perfectly. Intended to be worn oversized, this embraces all the things that you will see on the high street for the SS2018 season. Wear with jeans for the obvious combination but feel free to layer over a dress or with a skirt. If the shape feels too masculine, simply add a belt to cinch in a waist and highlight some curves.

Electric Blue

With a nod to Gucci, the striking main piece of this look is the printed shirt. Not only will l add some class and tailored smartness to your wardrobe, with the fun factor in the print as bright as it is, you’ll stand out for all the right reasons! Also a great colour for most people, which makes it a very wearable trend.

Super Stripes

Print clashing is going to huge for Spring 2018. For inspiration, look to Stella Tennant’s opening look at Balenciaga (the inspiration pic!) a striped blue banker-shirt, plaid kilt and sunset-print thigh-high boots. OK so a bit much for a day shopping, but here is a tones down, wearable version for the mere mortals! Keep in with the clashing trend and pair this over a plain vest and tuck in to the skirt for pure designer imitation. Too much? Then opt for pairing with jeans or some wide leg culottes when the sun eventually begins to shine again! While there is more than the Breton top to nautical fashion, it’s always a good place to start! While they might have started as a military look, nautical fashion has become a classic for plenty. It’s timeless and flatters everyone. I love the freshness of a stripe and whilst some people shy away from it, it can be super flattering and a casual fail safe piece too!

I love a skirt and am so glad to see them making a comeback in to the S/S 2018 season, where it looks like things are going to get more polished and a whole lot prettier. As you can see too – the check print is here to stay and this is a lovely variation from the coat in look 1. This is new and not only super flattering as the hemline is a little longer, so that they are more flattering than those styles that fall on the knee. No longer just for work, when paired with a clashing print T-shirt and sandals, these make a perfect breezy Sunday brunch look too.

To finish off my love for the Stripe Leisure Pant right now, these oh so comfortable jogger like trousers are tipped to stay for a while. Wear with trainers or with heels and work them in as many looks as you can find. My top tip, wear with a crisp white shirt and heels for a killer sharp look! Add some statement earrings and your good to go!
